Coming back on social media after taking a break or thinking about taking a social media break? There is nothing wrong with listening to what you're feeling in your spirit and taking those necessary breaks.
Disconnecting for 5 months from being on really allowed me to reflect on why I was viewing everyone and everything with a lens of criticism and maybe even some jealousy.
A lot of the times when we find ourselves feeling that way, it isn't because we are jealous and miserable people, a lot of the times it can be an indicating factor that we are out of alignment in our purpose with what God wants us to do, or we can be desiring something that someone else has and not even know it. Then we get on social media to escape and it intensifies those feelings.
Thats where it took me 5 months ago and why I needed to reset and reflect on what I was doing and why I was on in the first place. I got to enjoy looking spending quality time with my children, fiancee, read books, enjoy the world around me, all when I decided to remove myself for a moment.
Maybe this where you're at and I want to let you know that it is okay to remove yourself, delete your social media for a bit, rebuild that relationship with God and your family, be more present for them.It was the best decision I made for myself.
While social media can be a great tool to use, we want to make sure we do not let the tool use us. Hope this episode encourages you to do what you need to for yourself because your feelings are valid and important.
